Alaska Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary
Established in 1965, our Department has carried forward the mission of honoring and serving Alaska’s veterans in recognition of the sacrifices and commitment of every man and woman who has worn the uniform. The VFW Auxiliary is one of the nation’s oldest veterans’ service organizations, comprised of the relatives of those who served in a location of foreign conflict.
Today, nearly 3,500 members in 14 Auxiliaries statewide give generously of their time, talents, and resources. Together, they volunteer thousands of hours and raise hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to support charitable projects that directly benefit veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.
Through our Department Programs, we:

Our organization is made up of individuals from all walks of life who share a common bond: being the relatives of those who served overseas in a location of foreign conflict. Together, we are united in purpose, dedicated to service, and committed to ensuring that the sacrifices of our veterans will never be forgotten.
If you are a relative of a veteran who served in a location of foreign conflict, we invite you to join us. Membership in the VFW Auxiliary is more than an honor—it is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of veterans, active-duty service members, their families, and communities across Alaska. We welcome you to stand with us in service, support, and remembrance.
